Samenvatting

Operations planning is a major part of the Sales& Operations Planning (S&OP) process. It provides an overview on the operations capacity requirements by considering the supply and demand plan. However, Bausch& Lomb does not have a structured operations planning process for their warehouse operations. It is due to the implementation of new automated warehouse storage system. The goal of this project is to develop a model to generate a warehouse operations plan for the key resources. It is a 12-month rolling plan for the key resources; machine (OSR/ASRS), labour and space. Also storage assignment policies are applied to allocate the products in the automated warehouse. The model provided in this project could be used as a part of the company's S&OP process to overview the future capacity requirements in the warehouse based on the supply and demand plan. The scope of this project is limited with the aggregate level (monthly) plan for the machine, labour and space. And it is applied to contact lens and surgical products.
