Samenvatting
This paper focuses on the apparent ductility of lath martensite. Using a micromechanical model, the plastic contribution and importance of thin films of retained austenite is investigated. Interfacial plasticity or boundary gliding is identified as a key mechanism, which has been validated in micro-scale experiments at the level of the subgrain internal boundaries.
