Samenvatting

The temperature field of a spray plays an important role in the onset of auto-ignition. Experimental investigation of the two-dimensional temperature field of an n-heptane spray inside the Eindhoven High Pressure Cell (EHPC) [1], by means of toluene laser induced fluorescence (LIF) is in progress. The temperature dependence of the toluene fluorescence spectrum has been shown to allow temperature field imaging. The fluorescence is induced by a 266 nm Nd:YAG laser and monitored by a spectrometer and an ICCD camera. Further development and quantification of the method is in progress.
