Samenvatting

This paper presents the results of new research [2] on the occurrence of tribochemical tool wear during diamond turning of glassy polymers. It shows the importance of tribo-chemical tool wear in SPDT of glassy polymers used for optical applications such as contacts and spectacle lenses. It will also show that the diamond tool wear that occurs is caused by an oxidative etching process.
