Samenvatting

Teaching and learning in higher education are becoming ever more international. The number of students that spend (part of ) their studies at a foreign university is increasing rapidly. Likewise, academic staff exchange programmes make it possible for university teachers to go abroad for a limited or longer period of time to form part of another academic community. The development of joint degree programmes, in which academic staff from two or more universities from different countries together develop and teach an academic programme to students from different countries, is increasing as well.
