Samenvatting
Stabilizing the I-periodic response of a harmonically excited multi-DOF beam with one-sided spring is demonstrated by controlling the system state from the stable large amplitude 2-periodic response to the coexisting unstable small amplitude I-periodic response. At the I-periodic response, the control force theoretically becomes zero because the I-periodic response is a solution of the uncontrolled system The control force will be based on two control techniques, namely partial feedback linearization and linear error feedback For both techniques, results from real experiments are compared to results from numerical simulations.
