Samenvatting

In this paper the influence of a reduction technique on the dynamic behaviour of mechanical systems consisting of linear components and local physical nonlinearities is examined. Reduction takes place by applying a component mode synthesis method which uses free interface eignemodes and residual flexibility modes. A numerical method for determining the seady state behaviour of nonlinear dynamic systems is presented and combined with this reduction technique.
