abstract = "The paper describes the contribution of three methodologies in process research projects through practical applications in healthcare. On the simulation side, an integration of Building Information Modelling in the medical field has been proposed, besides discrete-event and agent-based modeling. Processes can be obtained from hospital information systems in order to derive log files and studied with process mining tools. Regarding optimization of healthcare processes, analyses have focused on the integration of process mining and optimization.",
