Relation of the electrostrictive coefficients of a non-ionic isotropic dielectric to other material constants

The phenomenon of quadratic electrostriction in isotropic dielectrics is studied using standard concepts of dielectric theory. The method employed is an extension of the derivation of the Clausius-Mosotti relation to the strain-dependent case. Formulae for the two tensor components that exist in the isotropic case are given in terms of material constants.
