Samenvatting
This text reflects on the entanglements of architectures, societies, environments, and politics to propose conceptual perspectives geared to re-think sustainability in architectural design and to advocate transformational change.
Latest in summer 2021 it must have become clear, that the climate catastrophe has fully arrived in Europe: Greece threatened by forest fires not seen before, Italy record high temperatures, and Belgium, Netherlands and Germany exposed to extreme floods, in which many have lost their neighbourhoods, homes and lives. Across Europe governments have launched policies and action plans to tackle the climate catastrophe, but it seems that the climate targets for 2030 cannot be achieved and that hardly any government has sufficient concepts in place to reach the 1.5Co degree target of the Paris Climate Agreement.
