InMotion has the goal to create a research platform for innovative technologies to show the
world the future of automotive technology. This research platform will be a collaboration
between knowledge institutes, Brainport companies and the government in which they implement
their latest technologies. The showcase will hold futuristic idea's which may sound impossible
today but will be commonly used in ten years. InMotion will thus be a leading institute which
gives answers to social problems such as emissions and trac jams.
The showcase will be in the shape of a super high performance car (the IM01) which
will be capable of beating a Formula 1 car on the track while using clean energy and
driving autonomously. To reach this goal the IM01 will exhibit innovations such as advanced
hybrid propulsion systems, interactive safety warning systems, Diesel engine running at 60%
eciency with cleaner emissions than air and high-tech systems focused on communication in
the car. These technologies are futuristic nowadays but InMotion strives to make this future
reality and solve the social problems as stated above.
In the late 70s and 80s Formula 1 was leading the world of automotive technology, these
days it is restrained by rules regarding cost and ratings. InMotion can attain this lost spot
in the world by implementing high-tech innovations from TU/e and automotive companies
situated in the Brainport region, the smartest region in the world.
