Samenvatting

A pyrolysis gas chromatog. system for volatile components has been developed, including a micro flow reactor permitting accurate temp. and reaction time control. Pyrolysis products are analyzed on capillary columns. The distribution of degradation products and its dependence on several reaction parameters has been studied. Special attention is paid to the influence of reactor design, reactor material, and manner of sample introduction. The above-mentioned set-up has been applied principally to the study of the degradation products of volatile hydrocarbons, including the C6, C7, and C8 aliphatics. By using pyrolysis gas chromatog., it is possible to distinguish components of very close mol. structure. [on SciFinder (R)]
