Samenvatting

Most of the analog-to-digital converters (ADC) nowadays are designed for a specific application, which gives opportunities to optimize them in a system context while aintaining similar system performance. In this paper, we propose a design method based on using the priori statistical properties of the input signal to optimize the design of the ADC and the posteriori input signal information for adaptation for a multi-carrier system. A parallel ADCs architecture is proposed for improve the conversion of wideband multi-carrier signals. Compared with the traditional single ADC architecture, the proposed ADC architecture is able to achieve a similar signal-tonoise ratio (SNR) with multiple lower resolution ADCs, and hence is very advantageous in terms of reducing the ADC complexity and power consumption.
