Samenvatting

The following report describes the selection process of a technology for the mild concentration of a plant protein, and the evaluation of that technology on the basis of protein nativity. Membrane distillation was selected as a technique potentially capable of concentrating a dilute feed stream for protein isolate production. Experimental measurements have been conducted and translated to the potential drying capacity at an industrial scale. These results are used for an estimation of the added processing cost, and a comparison of the price point of other drying techniques.
