Samenvatting

•Concept: Centralized indoor network architecture with optical fiber backhaul for efficient wireless coverage employing Radio over Fiber (RoF) technology. •Functionalities: HCC (Home Communication Controller) serves as the brain of the network and host several wireless technologies like Wi-Fi , LTE, UMTS. It provides network resource management and load balancing. CAN (Cell Access Nodes) functions as antennas that radiate the signals in the indoor spaces. •Advantages: Enhance network flexibility, scalability, communication quality and trustworthiness to support the future indoor communication needs, while reducing considerably the energy consumption and antenna radiation levels of the wireless equipment. Fully centralized overview of the network makes it easy to manage in an intelligent fashion providing full coverage and high data rates whenever and wherever needed. Envisioned to learn from the network behavior over time and provide intelligent coverage and seamless handovers.
