International Standards for Bamboo as a Structural Material

This report deals with the publication of international standards by ISO (International Organization for Standardization) on bamboo as a structural material. Bamboo still is considered as the material for poor people in rural areas but it also has the potential of being a fully developed engineering material. The aim of the standards is to promote this potential and at the same time to protect the good bamboo building tradition in countries where bamboo is naturally available.
