Samenvatting
The study reported in this paper investigated the influence of system related attributes on individuals’ willingness to use carsharing for different trip purposes. A stated choice experiment was set up to collect relevant preference data and mixed logit models were used to analyze these data. The following seven attributes were included in the study: the need to book in advance, the necessity of personal contact, the costs (per kilometer and per hour), the presence of reserved parking at destination, the car return policy, the type of fuel used by the car, and the pickup location of the car. The trip purposes work, weekly shopping, non-weekly shopping, and recreation/social were considered in the study separately. In total, 525 respondents evaluated 6300 choice tasks. All estimated models perform quite well. The model parameters show some differences in influence for the distinguished trip purposes. For all trip purposes, costs and pickup location are the most influential attributes. The influence of other attributes depends on the trip purpose. No influence is found for the presence of reserved parking at the destination.
