Samenvatting
Polyethene (PE) is the world’s most common polymer, with applications from low-cost to extreme-performance products. Its origin, as low-density LDPE, can be traced back to a long tradition in fundamental thermodynamics and to a liberal international universityindustry collaboration. A first application became of world-wide significance 75 years ago.
