Samenvatting
In the Rijnhuizen Tokamak project filamentation of the electron temperature has been
observed in additionally heated discharges applying electron cyclotron heating. Fila
ments are sharp peaks on the electron temperature with an amplitude of up to 1 keV in
a 2 keV ambient plasma and a width of 5—10 mm. They are observed with a high resolu
tion double pulse Thomson scattering diagnostic. Filaments are statistically significant
structures. Experiments show that it is likely that filaments are periodic structures
with a m/n=1 or higher order periodicity.
