Samenvatting
Highly flexible QVGA active-matrix backplanes and integrated circuits are made on 25μm thin polymer substrates. This is realized in a process using only 4 mask steps, and applying 2 of the 4 structured layers from solution. Displays are made by combining these backplanes with an electrophoretic display effect from either E Ink Corporation or SiPix, resulting in 100μm thin electronic paper displays. These are the world's thinnest active matrix displays.
