Samenvatting

An important key for success in industrial production is a CAE-based conception of the hydromechanical deep-drawing process. For the process layout, the finite element technique is a powerful and commonly used simulation tool. This paper gives a brief overview of the advantages of hydromechanical deep-drawing and discusses several issues regarding this process. Several trial simulations are carried out for an aluminum blank, where the obtained results are interpreted and scrutinized. Particular attention is given to the influence of a draw cap in the process.
