Samenvatting

This report outlines the transfer of the Dyneema® fiber production process model from a previous software to gPROMS. The primary objective of this project was to migrate and enhance the model within the gPROMS environment, ensuring that it meets the needs of its intended users. The project began with a detailed description and adaptation of the original model in gPROMS. This involved the mathematical transformation of the original system of equations and decomposition of the process unit into simpler model units/ blocks to replicate the accuracy and improve the model's functionality within the new software. To ensure the reliability of the transferred model, it underwent systematic verification and validation processes. These steps confirmed that the model performs as expected and is consistent with the original. Additionally, a user-friendly interface was developed, based on feedback from three different prospect model users who also have expertise in the real process. The results of this project demonstrate the transition of the model to gPROMS and the integration of a new user interface, which enhances accessibility and simplifies operation. The interface is designed to accommodate further expansion without requiring advanced coding skills. This work is intended to improve model operations and user interactions in the optimization and expansion of current processes, as well as in the development of new ones. In conclusion, this project has established a starting point for the model within gPROMS, enhancing its accessibility and applicability for future use, with potential applications in predicting property evolution in the produced fibers.
