Early cancer detection has been playing an important role in reducing cancer mortality [1]. A miniaturized OCT probe is designed to facilitate the early detection of cancer primarily in the bladder.
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) provides high resolution images allowing to detect cancerous tissues at their early stages. Our OCT probe incorporates a micro-mirror scanner implemented with microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technology. MEMS technology allows the development of high speed and small size endoscopic OCT probes. The probe design consist of several modules:
mechanical, electrical and optical modules. In this report, a short design description of each module is presented. A summary and concluding remarks are presented at the end of this document.
