Samenvatting
Gas-chromatog. (GC) anal. of reaction mixts. contg. hydrogen peroxide show high concns. of p-quinone, while only small amts. are obsd. by high-performance liq. chromatog. (HPLC). The probable explanation for this discrepancy is the occurrence of a reaction of hydroquinone with hydrogen peroxide during GC anal. The general conclusion is that HPLC anal. is the preferred technique to analyze the reaction products as long as hydrogen peroxide is present in the samples. [on SciFinder (R)]
