Samenvatting

This chapter introduces Volume 2 of the book series called ‘Transdisciplinary Workplace Research and Management’. Volume 2 is a handbook full of theories related to the management of office environments and workplace services. This introductory chapter first explains the goals and focus of this book, the essence of transdisciplinarity and why this is essential for further development of the workplace research field. Next, it introduces the academic fields that could be relevant for managing the workplace environment and services, followed by an overview of the theories included in the book. The chapter continues with an explanation on the main terms that will be encountered in the chapters of the book and which might have different disciplinary understanding. It ends with an overview of the book’s authors.
