Cloud connected vehicles : towards new business opportunities

In this report, the concept of a cloud connected smart mobility platform is investigated focusing on enabling easy application development and deployment without vendor lock-ins via an open and multi-vendor environment. A prototype of the platform along with a simple cloud application are developed to verify the feasibility of a first instantiation of the platform and evaluate its potential according to the aforementioned elements. In addition, a recommendation to the VIBe initiative is proposed containing the necessary steps from strategic and technical perspective for VIBe and the region of Eindhoven with respect to smart technologies and especially, smart mobility.
