Samenvatting
The current Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) directives have mandated a risk-based approach to assessing and mitigating electromagnetic interference (EMI) risks. In this context, in-situ measurement of electromagnetic (EM) fields acquired a strong importance, offering a perspective of which risks can occur in the intended environment of use. This paper explores and evaluates various sampling strategies of the electric field for enhancing and giving advice on in situ measurements. Through a systematic analysis, the performance of different sampling strategies is tested across diverse scenarios characterized by different frequency bands and the number of sources. Results give some first insight on each of these strategies when they can be used and what are the drawbacks and advantages. This study will reflect on the importance of understanding the EM fields in situ and the future work that would be done for further improvement in this area.
