Samenvatting
Wakeup radio schemes are employed to improve the energy efficiency in wireless sensor networks. In this paper, an analytical model is formulated to make a justified comparison between two different wakeup schemes, one-channel wakeup radio and two-channel wakeup radio. As the key measurement, energy efficiency is studied by taking the latency requirement as the main constraint. Moreover, the probabilities of miss detection and false alarm as well as the parameters related to network settings are considered in our model. Based on the model, we draw quantitative conclusions on how to choose a more energy-efficient wakeup scheme according to the application scenario. The analytical results are further validated by simulation results.
