Samenvatting

One important manpower planning problem is the choice of the categories for the medium term manpower planning in the organization. For determining which parameters play an important role at an appropriate choice of the planning methods, quantitative methods can be useful. We consider this manpower planning problem in a personnel system with a simple structure. It consists of two function groups on the same salary level. Results, derived by simulation experiments, can give an idea how instability and predictability of the future personnel requirement, the correlation in the personnel requirement and the turnover and mobility of the personnel influence the appropriate choice of the categories in this personnel system.
