Samenvatting

Simulation of human behavior in the built environment is of particular interest and receives a lot of attention, especially in precarious situations like evacuation and fire alarm. Also, walking behavior in streets, railway stations and airports is subject of research for gaining a clear understanding of pedestrian flows and applying this knowledge for measures to aid the circulation of these pedestrian flows. Pedestrian behavior in these circumstances shows efficient and effective movements. Shopping behavior involves other behavioral aspects as the intention is visiting establishments like stores and this behavior will be affected by perception, motivation and activity agenda for what pedestrians have in mind to do while visiting the shopping environment. This paper presents an agent model for the simulation of pedestrian behavior; the actual state of affairs and how to implement this model.
