    Samenvatting

In aerospace engineering CFD is often applied to obtain values for quantities of interest which are global functionals of the solution. To optimise the balance between accuracy of the computed functional and CPU time we focus on dual-weighted adaptive hierarchical modelling of fluid flow. In this paper we study estimation of the model error in a quantity of interest and present an adaptive modelling strategy to meet the required accuracy for a quantity of interest in a linear elliptic model problem.
