Samenvatting

On the basis of a moment method developed in a previous paper, several well-known approximation methods: the method of Guggenheim and McGlashan, Yang and Li, and of Kikuchi-Hijmans-De Boer, are rederived by restriction to the first moment. Furthermore, using the second- and third moment, explicit expressions for the semi-invariants ¿2IL are given for the case that the interaction is restricted to pairs of nearest neighbours.
