Samenvatting
A low cost wide band feed antenna for WLAN access point is presented. A conventional dipole is employed for vertical polarization and two parasitic elements are employed to increase the bandwidth. The radiating dipole is fed and matched through a microstrip line on a FR4 substrate. A simple metallic reflector controls the radiation pattern for desired illumination of reflector surface. The far-field pattern of feed is calculated using finite difference time domain (FDTD) and the far-field radiation pattern of reflector is calculated using method of moment (MoM). The reflector structure is offset reflector with radius of 45 cm.
