Samenvatting
The Living Lab Structural Health in BioBased Constructions will give substance to this. The project partners will first conduct a materials study in which the different combinations of natural fibers such as cellulose, geopolymeric concrete and bioresins will be investigated. The possibility of 3D printing for constructive optimization is also being examined. Research is also being done into the combination of 3D printing on an adjustable mold. The production methods will be tested in the lab of the Eindhoven University of Technology. The results of this will be presented in three different load-bearing structures (Living Lodge – Wall construction; Pavilion – Roof construction; façade construction with dry joints) are implemented and evaluated. The knowledge and experience from this will be communicated through various communication expressions (Massive Open Online Course, Participation in sustainability festivals, publications and film material). In collaboration with (Heijmans), an economic and social feasibility study will be carried out to accelerate adoption in the construction industry.
The consortium, consisting of knowledge institutions (TU/e and universities of applied sciences), SMEs (Millvision, Vertico 3D, Curve works, Sappi, oerlemans plastics, green building materials and the construction company Heijmans) covers the entire value chain and has all the components to make this project a success. Scientific and technical knowledge is well represented, as well as knowledge of the construction sector.
The Living Lab has a large number of innovative components, namely: the focus on innovative 3D printing possibilities. And involving the entire value chain (from knowledge institute to construction company) in the project and the total approach in the development of the profiles (materials, profile design, production process, life cycle assessment and application area).
