Samenvatting

Being the key enabling technology for Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL), discrete multitone modulation (DMT) is nowadays widely employed in communication systems. Using DMT, we investigate the possibility of 10-Gbit/s transmission over polymer optical fibers with large core diameters of 0.5 mm and 1 mm. An aggregate bit-rate of 8.6 Gbit/s is experimentally demonstrated.
