Omschrijving
QCINed builds up on the National Program on Quantum Technologies which aims at deploying a Quantum Network
across the country. In this first phase of development efforts are focused on deploying three different advanced
experimental QKD networks that will serve to different but complementary purposes, all in line with EuroQCI
ambitions. A QKD deployment network will be deployed around the Utrecht area for testing of solutions that will
ensure the provision of QKD services across sectors, over larger distances and across multiple domains (e.g.
Automation & Orchestration). A QKD network will be deployed between four different locations in the Amsterdam-
The Hague area and aims at having a staging network connecting the Ministries of Justice and Security and the Ministry
of Foreign affairs to exchange governmental data. Integration of MDI-QKD solutions with classical VPN tunnelling will be implemented in this network. The possibility to integrate post quantum algorithms will also be tested. The third QKD network will be deployed around the Eindhoven region, a pre-staging testbed network aiming to be an environment in which technologies relevant to the deployment of EuroQCI could be tested and validated. This third network will also focus on the development of new use cases, including industrial ones. Last, but not least, QCINed will offer a variety of training tools and workshops with the ambition to create awareness of the possibilities of the first generation Quantum Networks, engage with stakeholders and train users, engineers, ICT-architects, and also the future
workforce.
