Smaragd-Farmtronics

An entirely new agricultural concept is being developed together with a number of partners from the Agriculture and Food sectors. Instead of working with large mono-cultures and vast machines, we are investigating growing crop using companion planting. Botany teaches us that this improves yields as well as the plants’ resistance. However, this requires a new method of processing and harvesting, using small machines. In this part of the project, we are developing a small machine with a very efficient drive mechanism powered by solar energy.
