I am a PhD researcher in the Philosophy & Ethics group at Eindhoven University of Technology, funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) as part of the AlignAI doctoral network. My research is situated at the intersection of the philosophy of artificial intelligence and cognitive science, with a particular focus on reasoning, explainability, and the concept of agency in large language models (LLMs).
My current work investigates how philosophical frameworks can inform the development of AI systems capable of simulating or enhancing human-like reasoning. I am especially interested in how insights from epistemology, the philosophy of mind, and cognitive science can contribute to the design of more transparent, responsible, and cognitively plausible AI systems.
Prior to joining TU/e, I completed an M.A. in Philosophy at Middle East Technical University (METU), where I wrote my thesis on commonsense reasoning in AI. This project combined philosophical inquiry with empirical evaluation, proposing a structured benchmark framework to assess the reasoning capacities of state-of-the-art LLMs. I maintain a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research and welcome collaborations that integrate philosophical analysis with technical innovation in AI.
