Tarek is a Senior Research Scientist -- leading the Gastronomy Flagship project -- at Sony AI (https://ai.sony/projects/gastronomy/) and an affiliated researcher with the Philosophy & Ethics group at TU/e. Previous roles include Head/VP of Strategic AI at DEKRA DIGITAL, the former digital innovation unit of DEKRA (https://www.dekra.com) and a position as Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Data Science at City, University of London. In his research, Tarek is mostly working on topics related to cognitive systems, computational creativity, and trustworthy AI.
