Research profile

Sharon Dolmans is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship and Technology Commercialization at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Sharon’s main research interests revolve around technology commercialization in public and private contexts. Technology commercialization processes involve transforming new technologies into economic output - for example by tech startups - thereby creating economic value and societal welfare. Her research activities aim to enhance our understanding of these processes as well as key challenges, by drawing on insights from organization science, sociology, entrepreneurship and strategic management. To that end, she combines her fascination for technology with her passion for qualitative research to generate new theoretical insights that also prove valuable to practitioners and policymakers.

Besides taking pleasure in working with other scholars (both within the TU/e and internationally), she enjoys collaborating with industry and government by co-creating unique and innovative research projects that aim to advance science and support industry. In this respect, Sharon currently collaborates with the European Space Agency, Netherlands Space Office, Heijmans and others. Sharon’s teaching expertise includes technology entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial finance, R&D valuation and real options analysis.
