Bio-sketch

Sandeep Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), Eindhoven, the Netherlands. He has been associated with the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India, and is currently on leave. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Davis, USA, and as a research scientist at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in the past.

Research profile

His areas of expertise and interest include control and management in optical networks, quantum networking, data center networking, resource allocation, with a particular focus on stochastic analysis and learning methods, and the application of artificial intelligence in communication networks.

Academic background

He completed his Ph.D. degree with the highest honor (summa cum laude) in Electrical Engineering from the Institute of Computer and Network Engineering, Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany, in 2019 under the supervision of Prof. Admela Jukan. He received his master's (M.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India, in 2014, and a bachelor's (B. Tech.) in Electronics and Communications Engineering from SASTRA University, India, in 2010.

Affiliated with

Electro-Optic Communication (ECO) Group, Electrical Engineering

Ervaring

He was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Davis, USA, where he worked towards developing theoretical models and demonstrating the distribution of entangled photons over a quantum wrapper network. He also worked on developing a software-defined networking-enabled datacenter testbed for intelligent routing and switching.  He also worked as a research scientist at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in the Institute of Communications and Navigation, Neustrelitz, Germany, from 2019 to 2021. He developed anomaly detection software for maritime traffic situation assessment and a hybrid Kalman-filter-based solution for vehicle tracking using prediction and uncertainty estimation by deep learning and Kalman filtering. In the summer of 2024, he was a visiting researcher at TU Braunschweig, Germany, to discuss joint project proposals and collaboration opportunities in research.
