Research profile

Ramon Schiffelers is an Assistant Professor in the Model Driven Software Engineering group at the department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e).His research focuses on theory, methods and tools towards cost effective, industrial scale model-driven system/software engineering. He supervises/coaches several PhD, PDEng, and MSc students and provides guest lectures. 

Ramon is positioned at the interface between scientific knowledge and its application in the industry. Besides innovative products, this has resulted in long-term collaborative research and innovation between ASML, several TU/e departments, and knowledge institutes such as the High Tech Systems Center (HTSC) and TNO-ESI.As a software innovation architect, he manages a group of (SW) architects, scientific programmers, researchers, and PhD, PDEng, and MSc students. With this group, he combines state-of-the-art methods and techniques from academia with industry state-of-the-practice into innovative (software) products. These empower their users to develop highly complex software intensive (sub) systems.

Academic background

Ramon Schiffelers received his MSc and PhD degrees from TU/e. His PhD project resulted in the hybrid process algebra Chi and accompanying tools. As a post-doctoral researcher, he dealt with modeling, analysis and synthesis of supervisory controllers for Philips MRI scanners and participated in European projects dealing with the design of the Compositional Interchange Format for hybrid systems (CIF). In addition to his work at TU/e, Raymond is a Senior Software Architect at ASML.
