Research profile
Patrick Koelewijn is a Doctoral Candidate at the Control Systems (CS) Group at the Department of Electrical Engineering. His current research is on the analysis and control of nonlinear systems using the Linear Parameter-Varying (LPV) framework, under the supervision of Associate Professor Roland Tóth and Full Professor Siep Weiland in the Automated Linear Parameter-Varying Modeling and Control Synthesis for Nonlinear Complex Systems (ARPOCS) project. His main research interests include analysis and control of nonlinear and LPV systems, optimal and nonlinear control, and machine learning techniques.
Academic background
Patrick Koelewijn obtained his BSc degree in Electrical Engineering (Automotive) and MSc degree in Systems and Control from the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), both cum laude, in 2016 and 2018 respectively. During his MSc degree he spent three months at the Institute of Control Systems at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) working on the topic of Linear Parameter-Varying (LPV) control of a gyroscope with inverted pendulum under the supervision of Full Professor Herbert Werner. For his MSc thesis he worked on the topic of nonlinear tracking and rejection using LPV control under the supervision of Associate Professor Roland Tóth.
