Research profile

Min Li is an Associate Professor in the Systemic Change cluster. Driven by demand from the industry, he has been working at the junction of signal processing (sensory and human-computer interaction), machine learning, computer/processor architecture, system on chip and mixed-signal since 2002. While his work on the industry side focuses on core technologies and products in the semiconductor sector, his research work at Technische Universiteit Eindhoven focuses on the use-case and application side of cutting-edge semiconductor technologies and products. More specifically, he focuses on human computer interactions and human centric machine learning applications that are strongly driven and empowered by the fast-pacing semiconductor industry. 

 

Academic background

Min Li holds a B.E. with the highest honor in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University in China. He obtained his Ph.D in Microelectronics Engineering from K.U. Leuven in Belgium, investigating processor based low-power software-defined radio. He worked as researcher and then senior researcher at the imec research and innovation hub in nanoelectronics and digital technologies (Belgium), where he worked for R&D programs of major technology companies such as Samsung, Renesas, Sony and Freescale. He also worked at the Coordinated Science Laboratory of the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign (UIUC), Microsoft Research Asia and Bell Labs Research China. He is an elected member of the IEEE Technical Committee for Design and Implementation of Signal Processing Systems. In 2014, he started at NXP Semiconductors in Eindhoven, where he held a variety of system architect, product/innovation management and product marketing roles. He was appointed as Associate Professor at Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e) in 2017, with research focus on the human centric use-case and application side of cutting-edge semiconductor technologies and products.
