Research profile

Maximiliano Udenio graduated with a degree in industrial engineering from ITBA (Instituto Tecnologico de Buenos Aires - Buenos Aires Institute of Technology) in late 2005. After that, he certified as a SAP consultant and worked as a materials management module "expert" for T-systems for a few months. Seeing that that was not the path was supposed to follow, he started working for his family's business where he coordinated the "refurbishing" of digital cameras. They worked together with a camera manufacturer to recycle the majority of cameras that were returned  by customers in the US market. The work entailed shipping the merchandize to Florida, Uruguay (which is a free zone) were the repair / discarding of cameras was done. The core of the work was done to take monthly production from 1000 units to almost 8000. Doubling the work force and area of the warehouse in the meantime.

Between May 2008 and May 2010 he obtained my PDeng. degree at TU/e from the international program in Logistic Management Systems under the supervision of Prof. Jan Fransoo. His final project was carried out at DSM and consisted of using a system dynamics model of their supply chain, in order to accurately predict the upstream demand forecast during the crisis, using only the structure of the supply chain and the end market demand as input variables.

His research is currently focused on extending the results achieved at DSM into more general levels of aggregation (ie: model entire industries/economies).
