Matthew Bloodgood is a postdoctoral researcher in the Plasma & Materials Processing (PMP) group at the Eindhoven University of Technology. His areas of expertise include solid state and materials chemistry with special emphasis on the transition metal di- (TMD) and trichalcogenides (TMT). His current research focus is on the formation of TMD and TMT thin films by atomic layer deposition for future industrial application. In particular, he explores nucleation and growth behavior through atomic resolution electron microscopy.
Matthew Bloodgood received his PhD in chemistry from the University of Georgia, United States in 2018. His doctoral degree was under the supervision of Dr. Tina Salguero with a concentration in bulk crystal growth and characterization of low-dimensional materials. During this time, he also taught several general chemistry laboratory sections eventually earning two awards for excellence in teaching. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Eindhoven University of Technology in the department of Applied Physics.
