Academic background

Junke Jiang is a doctoral candidate at the Department of Applied Physics at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in the Netherlands. He was born in Hunan Province, P. R. China. He studied microelectronics at the Guilin University of Electronic Technology in China. In September 2017, he was enrolled as a doctoral candidate supported by NWO Shell CSER tenure track program. His PhD research focuses on the fundamental understanding of the optoelectronic properties and stability of lead halide and lead-free halide perovskites. He is undertaking research under the supervision of Dr. Shuxia Tao at the Computational Materials Physics Group (CMPG) and Prof. Petter Bobbert at the Center for Computational Energy Research (CCER).

Research profile

His research focuses on the fundamental understanding of the optoelectronic properties and stability of lead halide and lead-free halide perovskites by using computational methods. His current work including 1) accurate electronic structure prediction by using DFT-1/2 method; 2) the atomistic and electronic origin of phase instability of metal-halide perovskite; 3) the additive effect to the stability and photoluminescence of perovskite quantum dots; 4) the solvent-precursor coordination effect on the crystallization process and stability of metal-halide perovskite.
