Research profile

Jan H. Hoekstra is a Doctoral Candidate at the Control Systems (CS) Group at the Department of Electrical Engineering. His current research is on Model Completion through Nonlinear Identification, under the supervision of assistant Professor Maarten Schoukens and Associate Professor Roland Tóth. His main research interests include augmentation of physiscs based models through the use of black box techniques, resulting in models with increased peformance characteristics.

Academic background

Jan H. Hoekstra obtained his BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in 2021, and his MSc in Electrical Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), cum laude, in 2023. During his MSc research, he worked on computationally efficient predictive control based on ANN state-space models. This research was carried out in the Control Systems group at the TU/e, under supervision of assistant Professor Maarten Schoukens and Associate Professor Roland Tóth.
