The objective of the project, conducted as part of the Advanced Research Center Chemical Building Blocks Consortium (ARC CBBC), is to develop new materials for fabrication of polymeric nanofiltration membranes for the separation of components in non-aqueous environments. Particular emphasis of the project is on investigating recyclable polymers, such as covalent adaptable networks. The use of benign reaction conditions and bio-based solvents is central to the project to further contribute to the principles of green chemistry.

Jadwiga Poniatowska obtained her Chemistry Masters (MChem) degree at the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom in July 2022. Her Masters thesis, conducted at Syngenta, Jealott’s Hill International Research Centre, was aimed at developing biodegradable polymeric microcapsules for controlled release of agrochemicals. After finishing her MChem, she started a position as a PhD candidate working in the Membrane Materials and Processes (MMP) group, in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at Eindhoven University of Technology. Her expertise lies in synthesis, analytical characterization and performance testing of polymeric materials.
