Prof. Jansen is a Full Professor in clinical neuroimaging at the Maastricht University and the Eindhoven University of Technology. He has an appointment at the department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine in the Mental Health and Neuroscience Research Institute (MHeNs) at the Maastricht University, the Netherlands, where he also is the division leader of the “Cognitive Neuropsychiatry & Clinical Neuroscience” Division (ca. 61 FTE). In 2023, he was elected Senior Fellow from the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine.
His research is focused on the application of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques and innovative data analysis methods in neuroimaging settings. He aims to answer clinically relevant questions using advanced MRI, to obtain a better understanding of the underlying mechanisms and to improve treatment and care for neurological and psychiatric disorders. He has a strong interest and track record in non-invasive imaging of the glymphatic system. He is very passionate about ensuring that his methodological MRI research has clinical relevance, for which he cherishes the extensive clinical collaborations and contacts he maintains as division leader.
